Local garage gives free support to talented racer

RushforthcarMGZRA talented racing driver from Didcot is targeting championship success after local vehicle repair garage, Scotlands Ash Garage generously stepped in to provide him with free technical support and advice.

Alastair Rushforth races in the highly-competitive MG Trophy and has started the 2014 season in fine form by finishing second in his first race at Brands Hatch recently. He also set the fastest lap of the race.

His chances of further success have just been boosted after he was given the invaluable opportunity to join forces with Scotlands Ash Garage in West Hagbourne. The team at Scotlands Ash is keen to help Rushforth in his bid for silverware and has already put his 170bhp racing car through a revolutionary engine treatment process that will boost its performance ahead of Rushforth’s next race at Silverstone.

Scotlands Ash is the only garage in the local area that offers the ‘TerraClean’ engine treatment. This unique decarbonisation technology makes a significant improvement to the emissions, efficiency and performance of a vehicle and Rushforth is now hoping it will bring him a performance boost when he next puts his crash helmet on.

“To receive free support from a garage like Scotland’s Ash is fantastic,” he said. “Budgets are always tight in motor racing so I feel really privileged that a local business has decided to help its local driver. I’m hoping 2014 will be a season to remember for us all.”

Peter Welch, the owner of Scotland’s Ash Garage, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to help a talented driver like Alastair. We have a wealth of expertise and have invested in some of the best technology in the automotive aftermarket – such as TerraClean – at Scotland’s Ash, so teaming up with Alastair was a logical fit.

“The TerraClean decarbonisation treatment is the first step in our bid to help Alastair improve the speed of his MG ZR racing car and we’re hoping that will give him the chance to fight for victory in his next race and help put Didcot on the motor racing map.”
